Ancestral Culture and Modern Identity (a community discussion featuring Dr. Fredrik Gregorious)

April 14, 2024

How do our ancestral cultures, and the authoritarian theft and use of them, affect our modern identities?

The Black Cat House is pleased to announce a community discussion featuring our special guest Fredrik Gregorius, a Swedish intellectual specializing in comparative religions and ancient Norse culture. Join us for this unique opportunity to ask Fredrik your questions about racism in Europe, the history of symbols like the swastika, modern-day White supremacist organizations, and what we can do to turn back the rising tide of cultural appropriation and hate spreading across the West.

What is Racial Odinism? What happened to the ancient belief systems of European cultures like the Norse? Were they racist to begin with, or were they transformed by Nazi Party agendas and modern White nationalist propaganda? Is there still a useful and good pre-Christian European culture buried beneath years of fascist adaptation? Does this culture exist in America, or did it ever?

This event is free and open to the public. The Black Cat House welcomes all ages, and is a drug and alcohol-free venue. To help keep everyone safe and healthy, we ask that all guests wear face masks in our space. We are wheelchair accessible.
