In attendance: Anthony, Jackson (secretary), Jessie, Nate
Start time: 7:04 PM
- Event Review – Our annual counter-protest of the Walk For Life was this past Saturday. Jackson noted that our turnout was smaller than usual, but we still did our thing. The weather was very cold, and that may have had something to do with it. Jackson took Jessie’s advice and bought some hand and foot warmers for folks.
- Upcoming Event – Our “Why is Black History Important?” discussion is this Saturday. It sounds like we’re ready for it.
- Spring Calendar
March
Feminist event?
April
Lincoln Earth Day – Saturday, April 25th, 10 AM – 2 PM – will we be tabling there?
May
Friday the 8th/Saturday the 9th – Yard Sale?
Mutual Aid reading discussion – Jackson has looked over Salem’s reading recommendations, and he thinks one of them would work.
Winslow’s Wardrobe in March or April?
Linux Workshop on a Saturday afternoon? Anthony is not currently sure that he can commit to an in-person workshop for the spring. (Online event? Some other way to share information?)
garden workshop / indoor gardening / hydroponics?
critical evaluation of information / media literacy
Anthony has talked to his friend Chris Schwartz (Rochester Institute of Technology) who researches deep fakes. He’s currently busy traveling overseas, but he’s very interested in working with us and may have time over the spring.
Star Trek Night: “Booby Trap” & “Galaxy’s Child” (TNG)
Jessie suggests something about Simone de Beauvoir. There’s apparently a promising newish documentary called Looking For Simone, but we’re not sure if we can find a copy yet.
Meeting adjourned: 8:34 PM
